Coming back from Louisiana. Hair appointment at 4:30 and just found out that Cherish and Brooks are in Hickory. They are going to wait to see us before they leave. I have to go to office and do payroll and then see them. I have approximately 48 hours before I leave to go to Tucson. Things must be done before I leave. Still in Renee LaTulippe’s class and drowning in poetic meter and rhyme. I’m hoping for a light bulb moment.

Lily’s Lagniappe: The Tigers lost Saturday afternoon in Oxford. The nasty and noisy chatter about firing Les Miles is unbearable. I like him and I think he loves LSU and the men he coaches. Wishing for resolution soon. The chatter is hard to read and listen to.

Well today is Saturday. Game Day. Also family get together day. It is raining here in Louisiana. (Shocker!) But we decide to move our RV before lunch instead of waiting to afterwards. Glad we did but it made us late for lunch. The good Lord stopped the rain for about two hours and we had a pleasant lunch. Tigers play at 2:30.

Lily’s Lagniappe: There are signs all over Tickfaw State Park DO NOT FEED THE ALLIGATORS! Now i think it is a little bit foolish with some many humans around that the gators would actually be there but there are raccoons, nutra rats, small scurrying animals and probably bob cats and coyotes. So be AWARE!!!

Heading out to a family get together. Weather looks to be a problem. We started out on a day that was rainy and cloudy in Hickory and by the time we traveled to the middle of South Carolina it was clear and sunny. However; we found out that Tickfaw State Park was closing the RV portion at four o’clock on Saturday because of rising water. Well we went into panic mode and found another RV park very close. Crisis avoided. Yay!! Now still in Renee LeTulippe’s class. She really pushes you to dig deep. Keeping all the meter in your head is impossible.

Lily’s Lagniappe: The LSU Tigers play Ole Miss on Saturday in Oxford. I really hope we look better than we have the last two weeks. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

The Renee LeTulippe class is a wealth of information but boy are you busy. If you just attempt to do each day’s homework you are busy from sun up to sun down. Love the way its focused.

My critique group is going to take the craft class TELL ME A STORY. I didn’t remember about a pirate and skull. But I think that will be great. Looking forward to our meeting tomorrow. But today I have a dental appointment. UGH!! Well, get it over with.

Lily’s Lagniappe: This weekend headed to Tickfaw State Park to visit with family. Hot dog roast Friday evening around a fire, sounds great. Laughter to abound. Saturday we are sharing a meal together and hopefully those who are spending the night with us will come visit with us that meal.

Working on poetry for children is hard, HARD work. Writing anything for children is HARD, HARD work. But every time you take a class, try and fail, write and revise your manuscript you make your work stronger and better. Especially when someone else compliments your effort and helps you see how much more you can accomplish with just a little adjustment. Picture books are not always poetic but they are written poetically. Rhythm, pacing, meter and figurative language make the manuscripts so much better.

Lily’s Lagniappe: My heart is sick for the student athletes that take the field on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. We have superb athletes and look like we can’t make a first down. I believe that the coaches have failed our young men. I hope that we end the season well and go to a decent bowl. Forever LSU! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I am doing PiBoIdMo with Tara Lazar, a poetry  class with Renee LaTulippe and trying to revise two manuscripts appropriately.  Working hard to keep what little sanity I have left. Hope the rest of you are knee-deep in writing whatever you write, making a dummy, finding the right prose to fit the situation, and thinking about your projects is also writing.

Lily’s Lagniappe: Getting ready for a bounce back weekend for the LSU TIGERS!! Ready for some Cochon de lait!!!

Today we celebrate Veterans of the US. Wartime and peace time it makes no difference because the sacrifice is the same. Time away from family, time spent training, time learning things that helps in war time but hopefully never have to be used, and most of all time spent on duty watching over his fellow soldiers and keeping the world safe for the rest of us. Most soldiers just want to go home and hug their kids and their wives instead they’re walking the perimeter making sure the US is safe. As an American I am so proud of all those men and women who gave their time and talents to keep me safe. #allgavesomesomegaveall

Lily’s Lagniappe: Special weekend for the LSU TIGERS. It is a bounce back weekend. I hope they kick up some dirt and bounce on the razorbacks of Arkansas.

Well working on the poetry class and the revisions to the two pieces I have to be revised. Also planning for the weekend in Louisiana. Going to Tickfaw State Park for a small Chandler reunion. Looking forward to going to Tucson after that. Thinking about ideas for picture books for the entire month of November thanks to Tara Lazar. Today is day 9.

Lily’s Lagniappe: I am writing about the loss to Alabama on Saturday night. I hate losing! Plain and simple. I hate losing but more importantly I hate losing to Alabama. My team looked ill prepared and stunned at what they saw. The saving grace is Alabama didn’t climb as far as they thought they would. Number three is as high as they went. Yay!!

This is the day LSU plays Alabama. I sincerely hope we look good. Been working on PiBoIdMo since the first of November, thinking about the editorial letter from the freelancer abut the FREAK’S RAPE and starting to gel ideas in my mind.  The first process of thinking is the most crucial for me. Hopefully I can get some motivation about the revision. Reading still about the Magic Treehouse series for the revision of GAMERS OF THE ROUND TABLE.

Lily Lagniappe:Game at 8:00. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Working on poetry and finally read the editorial letter and now have a insight to the revisions that she is helping me achieve. I believe with her advice it can only make my novel better and more ready for agents and editors. Will take with me to Tucson to work on and try to achieve what the freelancer recommends. Also working on new class and PiBoIdMo and the revision of the GAMERS OF THE ROUND TABLE. Need to go to library to renew my books.

Lily’s Lagniappe: Well, Saturday night LSU goes into Tuscaloosa, AL to face the Alabama football team. Hoping we can come out on top.
