The novel I’m working on has a synopsis that needs a great deal of work according to one of the agents at the SCBWI Carolinas conference this year. I’m going to start working on my synopsis and make sure every plot line is in there and how they finish. There are plot lines that are in the novel that is not in the synopsis. The agent told me this is how you can sell your novel to the marketing grouo at any publisher. No one had ever said that to me before.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Well LSU and BYU are playing this weekend in the Louisiana Superdome. Houston is under water and will take months if not years to recover. Folks in Louisiana especially southern Louisiana know only too well how long it takes to recover. Praying for Houston and the good people there.
This is the last day of the SCBWI conference for 2017. It was a wonderful conference and I am hoping that Jennifer Wills will try to sell SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD.
Lily’s Lagniappe: There is going to be a new destination for LSU and BYU on Saturday. GEAUX TIGERS!!
Today is the beginning of SCBWI Carolinas Red Hot Carolinas Conference for 2017. Hoping to met new people and new agents and editors’
Lily’s Lagniappe: Harvey the Hurricane has flooded Houston, Galveston and all parts in between and east. Louisiana may flood again this year. Lord the weather pattern has really interrupted football season the last three years.
Going to continue to read through Encyclopedia Brown and try my hand at a mystery book series. Sleuth Brooks, and side kick Maddox. Also continuing to revise SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Football season getting closer and closer. College football starts this weekend. Yea!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!! We have a new mascot at LSU. A rescue from a habitat in Florida that could no longer take care of the tiger. Harvey is a 11 month old tiger, who is now Mike VII.
Today is the day of the lunar eclipse. A very unique occurrence that happens perhaps every 100 years. There was a partial eclipse about 40 years ago and I really don’t remember that. Perhaps since it was only a partial it didn’t impress me or make an impression on me. I also think it is my age then. In my twenties really wasn’t concerned about an eclipse but now in my sixties, in the twilight of my life, I want to remember these things. There is going to be another event in 2024. I sincerely hope that I am alive and able to take in this event also.
Lily’s Lagniappe: This coming weekend college football starts. It is going to be D-2 and possibly D-1 colleges not in the top five conferences. Their football season starts a week later. Looking forward to the LSU season. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Still revising SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD. Need a fresh look from conference critique. Hopefully I will get it. Unique manuscript based on date rape and drugs administered to unsuspecting girls. Getting ready to get Red Hot Carolinas Conference started next Friday.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Getting closer to LSU’s first football game in Houston at Reliant Stadium against BYU. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Worked on conference things today. Name badges and eating restrictions placed in name badges. The only thing I need for Friday morning is the participant list for intensives.
Lily’s Lagniappe: The college football season begins this weekend for some colleges. The SEC and larger conferences don’t start until Sept. 2nd. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
The revision still going well with SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD. Going to get some advice on manuscript and synopsis from the conference. It will be the first time anyone besides Deborah Halverson and critique group have seen it. Hoping for the best.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Louisiana got a lot of rain again this year almost one year to the day of the 1000 year flood of 2016. It didn’t rain as much this year, thank goodness. Getting close to LSU football season.
Sent the newest Chapter of SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD to critique group. Hopefully they can get to it as soon as they can then a new chapter after I revise it.
Lily’s Lagniappe: A year ago yesterday a beautiful light in our family gained his wings in heaven. I still hope he will call me or say GEAUX TIGERS, or talk about his sons. But he’s in heaven with momma and together they are watching over us. Miss you everyday.
