Well out and about sort of. No real removal of snow for all streets. Have to cram cars for three lanes into one. Oh well, stuck inside with a five and a half year old that is really beginning to feel better. Trying to work on revision but at least I’m able to read on my iPad while he watches cartoons and shows on TV.
Lily’s Lagniappe: I thought Hickory was bad for getting rid of snow but Charlottesville, VA takes the prize.
Working on revision in between ice cream and yogurt breaks for Brooks. Trying to get in picture book manuscript for January and finish up some revision for GAMERS.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Jonas has shut down the Northeast and some in the Mid America. Best just wait it out.
Little man in surgery and doing fairly well. Little whiny for about an hour and 45 minutes then ate like a champ. He will probably pay for it tomorrow but at least his belly’s full tonight.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Big snow storm headed here on Friday and Saturday. Probably great for Brooks not to miss too much school. Doin fair today eating ice cream and yogurt and Popsicles.
Working on revision number two of GAMERS. Beginning picture book manuscript for January. Leaving tomorrow for Charlottesville to be with Cherish for surgery.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Big storm they named Jonas going across US. Be careful friends looks like a nasty one.
Finished revision one of GAMERS. Now going to spend two hours a day on craft, One for middle grade and one for picture books. Then throw myself into revision number 2. Looking forward to visiting my dad in late February and getting to warmer weather. This Thursday my great nephew is having his tonsils out. I’m going to be with my niece, a divorced mother. She shouldn’t have to go through this alone.
Lily’s Lagniappe: I’m thinking about going to the movies tomorrow. I really want to see 13 HOURS. I may have to wait until I come back from Charlottesville. I hope you week is going well.
Finished revision number one of GAMERS OF THE ROUND TABLE. Must go back and revise more of the beginning. Need to make Austin’s voice bigger and into every aspect of story. The beginning needs to begin sooner. Get to the story. Must keep revising until I can be certain I have done these things.
Lily’s Lagniappe: During carnival season, king cakes are sold. It represents the journey of the Wise Men to see the baby Jesus. Somewhere inside this circular pastry there is baby Jesus hidden. The tradition says whoever has the baby Jesus in their piece provides the next king cake.
Working on PB manuscripts, revising MG and looking forward to revising YA. This many projects keeps me sane. Never get bored with one. Can work on two or three at one time. Registered for webinars to help perfect revisions, learn concepts, etc. sponsored by the SCBWI Carolinas.
Lily’s Lagniappe: This time of year, Carnival Season, in Louisiana is magical. Everyone is in a good mood, celebrating is fun, kids love the parades and everyone catches lots of beads and doubloons.
Working on the revision, then hoping to get into a PB manuscript and revise it so maybe later on I can send it to an editor or agent. Then onto my YA novel.
Lily Lagniappe: The weather is wet down south and cold. Be safe and stay warm. Mardi Gras parades will be on the weekends, plan accordingly.
Revising MG and starting to focus on PB manuscripts and then to revise the YA novel I had a freelance editor help me with. Decided to join 12 X 12 again this year. I hope it will help but must stay focused for the entire year.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Carnival season is in full swing. Stay safe out there. Parades will be starting on the weekends. Have fun but be safe!
This is my birthday. Lots of great well wishes on Facebook and text messages. We went out to eat at one of my favorite places. Still revising my MG then to work on my YA and write a PB manuscript.
Lily’s Lagniappe: Yesterday was Twelfth Night. King Day. The carnival season has begun in Louisiana. Krewes are having balls and presenting debutantes and having parades. Stay safe.
